Meet Lisa
Welcome to More Walks, the health and lifestyle site about getting and staying active in fun and engaging ways!
Let me introduce myself: I’m Lisa, early 50s, navigating my periodontal practice, travel to amazing hiking destinations from my newly empty nest, and writing this blog.
I began More Walks in mid-2023 to share the best, evidence-based ideas for staying healthy in mind by staying healthy in body.
Facts About Me
I am a Harvard-trained dentist with a specialty in periodontics. This means I treat gum-disease.
I love to save teeth. I especially love to save teeth from gum disease, because this lowers my patients’ risk of serious health issues like heart attack and stroke.
I started walking with intention to improve my current and long-term health several years ago. My walking eventually turned into more serious hiking when I realized it was a perfect family activity that we all enjoyed.
I still see walking as the foundation of my health journey because it is so accessible.
I have lived on a farm, surrounded by animals all my life. Pets are an integral part of my history and will forever have a place in my active future.
